While we were looking for new vehicles
recently, the girls came with us to one dealership. For those who know me, they realize I have a
difficult time watching kids and paying attention to other activities so often
choose to do one or the other with my time if possible. The girls were anxious to do other things than
sit in a small office, so took up a considerable amount of my patience. As soon as possible, I took the kids to the
car while Jason finished business with the dealer. When he came out, he had a bouquet of
flowers with him which the dealership provides to customers. (I guess there was an awkward moment when the
dealer realized he had to give the flowers to Jason instead of me – so this was
the first thing that perked up my mood.)
On the ride home, Grace began plotting, she
convinced Clara there should be a wedding with Jason and I since we had the
flowers. So after bath, it was time to
prep the parents for their wedding.
Grace took Jason to his closet to dress him and Clara helped me. Jason ended up wearing a button down shirt and
swim shoes to his wedding while I had on a dress with multiple necklaces &
bracelets and a pair of heals for my outfit.
Why we didn’t take a picture on our wedding day? I am
not sure so you will just have to imagine the amount of jewelry around my neck
and on my wrists when being dressed by a three year old.
Grace told Clara what was needed to marry
people and they chose their roles.
Grace walked me down the aisle while Clara was to officiate the
ceremony. So Jason in his swim shoes
and Clara in her pajamas waited for me by the fireplace in the living room
while Grace walked me down the stairs and toward them with my bouquet of flowers
from the Dodge Dealership. Unfortunately, the minister got a case of the
butterflies and decided she would prefer to hide in the corner than marry us. But no worries, Grace double dutied and
performed the ceremony which went about like this. “Daddy will you marry mommy?” (Jason: yes) “Mommy will you marry daddy?” (Mary: yes)
“Ok, then you can kiss”. Then a
large “EEWWWH” from both the kids in
attendance because as of recent kissing has become very ewh-worthy to them
both.
After this momentous event, it was off to
celebrate with snacks for bedtime and bedtime stories. I will admit my mood had improved.
